Classification Information

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” is an American science-fiction fantasy film about an average Asian immigrant who is transported across various universes to defend the world from a cosmic villain. The film is rated M18 with the consumer advice “Some Homosexual Content and Sexual References”. The film contains a subplot relating to two women being in a same-gender relationship but trying to keep that from one of the characters’ grandfather. In one of the scenes, the two women are depicted kissing. Under the M18 Classification Guidelines, “homosexual theme or content as a sub-plot, if discreet in treatment and not gratuitous” and “non-explicit depictions of mild sexual activity or acts of intimacy (e.g. kissing and hugging) between persons of the same gender” are allowed. The film also contains crude sexual references throughout the film. One of the scenes depicts a woman transforming batons into rubber dildos and using them to hit a man repeatedly. In another sequence, some characters enhanced their power by inserting phallic-shaped objects into their anuses. There are also brief references to sexual bondage tools shown in a room, and when a man is shown to be gagged with a sex tool. In addition, there are scenes of violence throughout the film, mainly in the form of Kungfu fighting moves such as punches and kicks. Some of the stronger scenes depict injuries with some bloodletting. For example, there is a scene where a character is shot with a gun, with blood spurting visible. There are also some utterances of the expletive “f**k” in the film.
