Extended Classification Information

“Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & The Envisioned Land” is an open world role-playing game which is set in a fantasy continent that was once inhabited by the Aladissian Empire where alchemy had flourished. Faced with the reality that alchemy has become taboo, the alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt must harness her skills and companions to uncover the truth behind the kingdom’s downfall and its forgotten past. The game is rated Advisory 16 (Suitable for 16 & Above). Played from a third-person perspective, the protagonist will explore the continent’s environments such as meadows, hills, lakes, ruins, and settlements and engage in the art of alchemy, which involves gathering resources, weaving memories and synthesizing items. Progress can be advanced by talking to characters, viewing cinematic scenes and fighting enemies, while a motorcycle and zipline can be used for traversal and bandages can be applied to recover health. Combat victories bestow experience points, items and upgrades in character levels and traits. Combat can be frenetic when the protagonist leads a party in using weapons like guns, swords and elemental spells to execute combos of melee and ranged moves against humanoid and creature enemies. These result in flashes of light, sound effects and the amount of damage shown, with defeated foes typically disappearing from the scene. When the protagonist is low on health, red flashes appear across the screen. The player can encounter female characters who have voluptuous body proportions and wear outfits such as bikinis and skirts that reveal cleavage or expose parts of their midriffs and buttocks. There are also hot-spring scenes showing characters bathing and engaging in conversation, but without explicit details being depicted. Under the ADV16 rating, “still or moving images which may be mildly suggestive e.g. scantily-clad women in bikinis or lingerie” are permitted.
