Extended Classification Information

“Elden Ring Nightreign” is an action role-playing co-op game which is set in the fantasy realm of Limveld. As Limveld increasingly becomes encroached by a phenomenon known as the Night’s Tide, the player will assume the role of a Nightfarer to save the land, confront various foes and overthrow the powerful Night Lords. The game is rated Advisory 16 (Suitable for 16 & Above). The player will select from a roster of playable figures and control the character to explore various environments such as ruins, plains and castles from a third-person perspective. Gameplay involves viewing cinematic scenes, talking to characters, discovering items and fighting enemies during combat. Based on three-day-and-night cycles where the map shrinks nocturnally due to the Night’s Tide, the player character will battle humanoid and creature enemies to progress the storyline and ultimately defeat the Night Lord. Combat victories reward currency and items which can augment character traits and equipment. Health can be recovered by seeking refuge in spaces called “Sites of Grace”. Some dialogue and action choices can be made to develop the narrative of the game. Bodies, bloodstains and skeletal remains can be encountered during exploration. There are some moderate depictions of violence during combat when characters employ melee and ranged weapons (swords, axes, arrows) and attacks like spells and elemental moves against opponents. These result in characters being slashed and impaled with copious bloodletting shown. Upon depletion of their health bar, defeated characters collapse to the ground and disintegrate. Other scenes depict a character who commits seppuku and characters getting bludgeoned or chewed upon, with blood splattering and staining the ground, and pooling underneath bodies. Under the Advisory 16 Classification Guidelines, “realistic but not excessively graphic violence with depiction of blood” are allowed.
