Extended Classification Information

“Wuchang: Fallen Feathers” is an action role-playing game where players take on the role of Wuchang. The protagonist is a female pirate navigating the war-torn and plague-ravaged lands of Shu during the late Ming dynasty. The game is rated M18 for violence and gore. Played from a third-person perspective, the protagonist explores various environments while uncovering the storyline. Combat is fast paced, with the protagonist wielding weapons like swords and axes, along with magical abilities, to defeat both human and humanoid enemies. To progress further, the protagonist must defeat the boss enemy in each area. Depictions of violence with graphic bloodletting is frequent due to the frenetic pace of combat, with blood staining both the environment and the protagonist. Some of the stronger depictions include a humanoid enemy vomiting a large volume of blood as part of its attack, and another boss hurling blood bombs that result in widespread blood splatter. One area contains depictions of dismembered human limbs hung on display, alongside body parts being boiled in large cauldrons. Human corpses and effigies made from human remains can also be found throughout various environments. Overall, the game would be more appropriate under the M18 Classification Guidelines, which permit “depictions of realistic violence, such as killing, maiming or causing other serious injury to humanoid characters”.
